At work...

Kingston Police is the perfect size where you can get to know your colleagues and develop life long friendships and family-like relationships.

We believe in fostering a culture of teamwork and in investing in our officers' professional growth and development.

Along with on-going training opportunities we have a wide range of specialty units to work in, such as: urban and rural patrol, criminal investigation units including street crime and drugs, canine, emergency response, training unit, forensic identification, traffic safety and collision reconstruction, and community engagement.

We offer a generous salary that will go much further in our mid-sized city. You'll receive comprehensive health and wellness, medical and dental, and maternity benefits. We have a great on site fitness facility and saunas. And of course you'll have lots of vacation and stat holiday time to enjoy.

Kingston is a perfect mid-sized city with a small-town feel, yet ideally located for easy drives to larger metropolitan centers. The cost of living is lower than most major cities and you’ll enjoy a better work life balance. You'll spend less time commuting and running errands, and have more time to enjoy the many recreational activities that Kingston and the surrounding area has to offer. From boating and fishing to scenic hiking trails, to fine dining, to arts and entertainment, to quiet cottage life, you can enjoy it all.

Why Kingston

Kingston offers a smaller community quality of life with the amenities of a major centre. Kingston is located along the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario, at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River. The city is an easy drive to Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal and is a short trip to the US border, crossing into New York State.

Kingston’s historical past is reflected in the buildings and homes in the city, as well as Fort Henry, the Rideau Canal and the sites associated with Kingston’s role as the first capital of Canada from 1841 to 1844.

The City of Kingston encompasses rural and city living and is home to vibrant entertainment and fun community events, a variety of shopping and fine dinning options, world-class education institutions for your children, a wealth of rewarding career opportunities for your significant other, high quality healthcare facilities, beautiful parks and trails, and the best freshwater sailing harbour in North America.
